Lately I’ve been talking with professionals, as well as fellow business owners, and a consistent theme I hear is one of massive change. In fact, I haven’t talked with anyone who says they’re succeeding with tools they used even last year! Shifts in our economic and political landscape are forever changing how we work. The old “how to succeed in business” rules just don’t seem to apply anymore.
So, how do you thrive in a shifting landscape? Personally, I go back to basics. Have you noticed that the cycles of nature are very consistent? The flowers of spring burst forth, whether or not we’re ready for them. Branches that looked dead in winter suddenly sprout new leaves. And, just as in nature, change cycles occur in our lives too, whether we’re ready or not! The good news is that there is a predictable cycle to change and it looks like this:
Change is the one thing we all have in common, and it will be with us our whole life, so we might as well get used to it! I know that’s not easy, but there are tools that can help you navigate through this cycle. (Personally, I have a very low tolerance for feeling bad, so I’ve been gathering and using these tools for years and I know they work!).
There are a few times during your adult years when there are compelling reasons to create a new chapter, or at the very least, refresh the current chapter. Change is becoming more rapid all the time. We can’t predict what the future will bring and where our paths may lead. To survive and thrive at this time in history, you must design your own path and take charge of your own life chapters, no matter what your age or situation. Do you know how to do that?
If not, I want to extend a special invitation to you. I’ll be giving a special presentation of “Love Large, Travel Light”, at the Unity Church of Melbourne on Sunday, May 19th, along with a workshop following the service. Originally designed for caregivers, this workshop will outline the exact elements anyone can use to navigate through change and create a roadmap for their next chapter. (www.unityofmelbourne.com)

“Working with Coach Cobb really expanded my self-awareness. Understanding how I impact others completely changed how I communicate. Linda showed me how to shift my perspective, which was incredibly valuable because my results improved not only in my work life, but in my home life as well. Now when I find myself struggling to reach an outcome, I channel Linda’s advice.”
